Not Understanding LED Tape?

Very Thankful for any help. I am trying to give more light to the shaded areas of a hot & shade house that will have stacked shelving.

I have been reading & reading and it is not making any sense to me. I have searched & searched and I just do not get it.

How far apart does this type of tape need to cover any given area? Examples below.

How far from the tape does the plant need to be?

Are these lights bad for ones health?
