Looks good. These really do work well. Careful of temps inside when you first start tho. They hold a lot of heat, good and bad. Keep us posted!

The high low thermometer gave a high of 82 during the photo period last night (I run off peak to save on money). Don't know the low yet as it hasn't finished cooling off. The readings are a little skewed, likely on the cool side, because we have single to below 0 temps outside our house. It is probably just me being a wimp but everything feels cool to me.

Also, I'm using this tent wrong.... It dawned on me whilst thinking about the tent and the shelves I hope to custom build that it has zippers everywhere and you aren't meant to go inside the tent, rather, fill it with shelves and unzip the parts you need to service. I'm a little embarrassed I didn't realize that but oh well. Maybe I'll still use it this way but for now the plants ended a home and now.

It's so cold outside I don't even want to go to the hardware store for supplies.

That looks fantastic. Neat how it works. I took a look at some websites to check these out. I had no idea, either, and wondered how anyone could enter once the plant shelves were inside.

How many lights and what type do you have in there? 82 is pretty reasonable for peak, and it should do really well holding most of that overnight (or day in your case). Either ways sounds great.

Now your plants get an eternal summer! I'm starting to think that it wouldn't be so bad to keep my plants outdoors for half the year, and in a grow tent for the cooler months. I also envisioned that large grow tent as a grow room, but I guess it was meant to function more as a terrarium. I think it's smart to run the lights during the cheapest and coldest part of the day. That makes up for the fact that grow tents can't get any natural light inside. What are your plans for your custom shelves? Keep the updates and pictures coming!

To answer some questions:

The lights are all t5s. One is an 8 bulb fixture which can crank out some heat the others are four bulbs and I have two bulb t8s but they're not up yet.

Benches: likely use redwood to build slatted benches. The slags are for good support and redwood as it is resistant to rot. I am concerned however of the ability to wood to harbor bad things like pests and disease. So I may reconsider using a plastic bench top, ones that can be scrubbed down and removed to spray down.

I originally put the photo period at night because I worked in the evenings and wanted to enjoy the plants when I got home. Then I changed jobs and kept it there because I was researching on how to reduce my electricity needs. The lights don't decrease the demand at night but the power is cheaper and it doesn't heat up the room or house when the sun is doing the same.

For now I will build shelves that are two feet in depth and four feet wide so that if I need to change and add another bench I make another two by four foot bench and move the tent away from the wall so as to be able to access at any time.

It's looking good so far. Do you think metro racks would last over time in such a humid environment? Also, how different is the humidity level in there?

Ryan, looking forward to seeing your setup. I received a Growbox 63x31x31 (tent) a month ago and am already contemplating a big rearrangement. Please share your pics! Anyone else have suggestions on orchids better suited for tents instead of a windowsill? I have a large variety included in my 90+ orchids. Thanks!
