There are a few heated debates ongoing. I hope this being your first post is not just bent on stoking those flames. Especially since 2 threads below yours, there was ALREADY a "LED" thread... please don't double post, that thread should have explained in more than sufficient detail, everything about them.
Scientifically, they are promising; economically it's not an investment I would make at this point.
