Try nylon rope, Gin .. it shouldn't mold or rot

I love the chains. I wouldn't change it it at all, if it were me. I asked because I like it a lot. Not sure how long the cactus sceleton will last, but there are lots of long-lasting mounts that could be done this way. Thanks for a great idea, Gin!

My first attempt
Just thought I would share my first attempt at mounting some Phals. I have used the wide end of a palm frond.

Unorthodox if I say so my self but different. How did you attach the plant and how did you hang it? And to think I thought I saw it all....two cool mounts, one after another.

The cactus skeleton has lasted about 7 years so far no sign of rot I buy XXXXXXXXXXXXXsize panty hose the cheap ones and cut into strips to tie the plant until established , easy on the roots and holds the Spag. pretty well .. no comments about guys buying panty hose ... Gin

I used nylon fishing line to secure the orchid and sphag to the frond. I drilled a hole in the bark near the top, and just looped some fishing line through the hole to make a nearly invisible hanger.
