That's really awesome! That's what I want to do next, setup some kind of enclosed super humid environment. I need to find a HUGE fish tank! And some of that moss.

Thanks for the great pics!

PS, site seems to be down right now, will check later though.

The things sticking out are the fruiting bodies/"flowers". This stuff thrives and spreads in moist to wet terrariums and Wardian Cases like mine. Where it comes from is anyone's guess. It's home here is 99% humidity and 1500+ foot candles and fertilized ever-other-day. Misting is every 4-5 hours automatically.

Try searching the companion web site Vivarium Forum for Java Moss.
MY GAWD. . .I must find and possess some Java Moss.

Tim, it must be in a very moist environment. My tank is kept at 92-99% humidity for all but 3 hours at night. Also really high light makes it yurn yellow. It's best in an orchidarium at 500-800 foot-candles. The mounts I show are more than that (1000-1200 foot-candles) and the topmost moss is all yellow. I think it adds decoration to the mount. I have to pull off parts of the moss when it grows over the leaves of the orchids. Roots are ok, though.
