Is it important to remove fishing line after an orchid is established?
Default Is it important to remove fishing line after an orchid is established?

Hi, all. I'm trying mounted orchids for the first time, and I'm using fishing line to initially secure them to their mounts. Is it important to remove the fishing line after the orchid is established / attached? If you don't remove it, will leaving the line in place be harmful?

Thanks!

Christian

I've grown mounted plants for decades and have never once removed fishing line. It can't hurt anything.

The plant itself doesnt care, I usually forget it and never take it off. unless it bugs me looking at at.
