Default Mounted on antique plates

Here are some pictures of some phals I have "hanging around" the house. I wired with moss, and use a plate hanger on the back of the plates. They hang on my window trim. I spray them daily, and about every week I take them down and soak them really well. The lip of the plates let them hold water while the moss soaks it up. The roots do great, and curl around the rim of the plates, even though they are not "attached" the same way they would attach to something more porous. But I like the look of them. They have bloomed in this spot, as well, and looked really cool with the leaves and bloom stems falling down like they do in nature.

I love the pictures in the other thread of orchids mounted on clay pots, and thought I would share my "odd" idea

Have a good day,
Ann

That's really a cute idea! I like the play on the traditional wall of plates.

I am happy with the idea. And that means wild orchids come to the town. Never mind. In Glass vases, bottles , plastic or I forgot even inside coconut husks or snail's shell , regi foam boxes every where they can live.

So all that Royal Albert Lavender Rose china we had did actually have a purpose! (sorry china lovers....)

Very interesting idea, best kept away from Greek Restaurants.

Very interesting! You could definitely water it a bit more though. The leaves look a bit wrinkled and Phals love lots of water!!!
