Mounting on Kool-logs with no moss? Male
Default Mounting on Kool-logs with no moss?

Has anyone tried mounting on Kool-logs with no moss? I know the instructions say to use moss, but when I tried playing with them in the past, I felt that moss was keeping my plants too wet.

I haven't had a lot of success with kool logs either way, I was not ablle to keep things wet enough. May work better under your conditions.

Seems like such a good idea, but water seeped right through and the surface was too smooth. I gave mine away.

Yes, I struggled with the water seeping through as well. Since I grow indoors under lights, I did find refilling the water reservoir to be easier than watering an orchid on a traditional mount, not that my track record is good with either. One of my Kool-logs did grow an impressive amount of moss though haha
