Im assuming that since you haven't seen any rust on the frame that its probably galvanized metal. But if it isn't, is there any concern about the roots in contact with steel?

I hope it won't be a problem. Wood slat boxes are connected with wire and my Brassovola crawls all over the wood and the wire. They have a pretty agressive root system so I'm and

If you have the opportunity to make it here...GO!!!

Redland International Orchid Festival

Plan on spending a few hours...the whole park is full of orchid vendors!!!

I went in '05 and had a blast. It's a 5 hr trip for me so I don't think I'm going to make it but if I were closer, I wouldn't miss it!

Default Orchid Festival...I wanna to go!!!!

Would love to go! Hubby's not real big on orchids...yet.... He and I attended a small orchid show in town last year and 30 min. was all he could take. This year he's a little more enthusiastic, but I don't know...I'd be like a kid in a candy shop He'd probably have to drag me outta there. I've marked my calander though. It's pretty far south... Maybe I could coax him with a weekend trip to the Keys.

When I went in '05, it was on a bus trip that my club put together. We stayed at a hotel that was about a mile from the park...arrived Saturday afternoon, relaxed...and then were waiting at the gates the next morning!

I went to a small orchid show today and purchased 4 bareroot Bc. Maikai. I stuffed the grapevine ball with Epi Web chunks and mounted the 4 Maikai. Here are some updated photos.
