Hi Becca,
I have a greenhouse (or will have one again soon) so that makes a huge difference. I spray right from the hose with a misting attachment on the hose. I will have a mix of dilute fertilizer that I add to the mister so that it is constantly in use during warm months. During colder months I change to a monthly dilute fertilizing schedule.

Just curious....would the water from the hose be to cold? Even when it is hot in the summer, the water from our hose is still cold!

I use pretty cold water myself. Hasn't any of my plants, that I know of.

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Indeed, the water from my well is a pretty constant 52degrees F. As well as providing the water for interior and exterior use, it also heats and cools my house and will heat/cool my greenhouse. Having both solar panels for electric and geothermal for heat/ac, my total cost for heat and electric during the coldest month of the year was $125. And because I have a deep well, I can use all the water I want for free. I have a septic system so the runoff goes right back into the ground. As far as greenhouse runoff is concerned I will be putting in drainage system with a bed or stone underneath.
I will also use as much rainwater as I can.

I always go to the trouble to bring my 60 degree water temp up to around 70 degrees when watering...am I doing that for nothing? LOL. I was told the water needed to be room temp....and 70 degrees is my room temp...lol.

I don't believe that warming is a waste of time if you care to do it. I store mine in 5 gallon pails at room temps (which this time of year rarely are above 65 degrees F.) The water feels very cold when I draw it from the RO unit storage which sits under the sink against an outside wall. I guess I don't feel the urge myself, but it certainly won't hurt to warm your water.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Love those mounts Dave. You are now (in my book) the top mounter. I really like the multiple spp mounts best, but each one seems to be designed specifically for the inhabitants. Great job!
