Oh, they look so much better! Was it a job to re-do them? The mounts look like it would make it easy.

If you have a large pet store near you, you could probably find an interesting branch in the reptile dept. They carry things like that for various lizards, etc. Also, might check the tropical fish dept. They have all sorts of interesting things that you don't have to put in an aquarium.........just a thought.

{edit} Sorry, I mis-read the post, you need an orchid not a mount....I'm old, forgive me.

Nice job. The last thing you want is to lose your guys, fishingline is what I was refering to. String will rot and down comes your chid. I would use 16/18 g wire, Orchid supply stores also have long wires you can use. They are strong enough for most anything. Brass is soft enough to bend and wrap at the ends. You can get it at some craft supply stores and probably where bonsai supplies are sold. It does not rust either. I also use the brass wire to hold some bigger/heavier chids onto wood just tight enough to keep in place. Sometimes I use the zip ties (cable ties). Don't want to harm them. I leave these on permanatly. I wrap the fishline to keep the samll amount of moss in place till it's established. On my mounted phals and others as well, as soon as they have plenty of roots wrapped around I'll cut the fishing line and remove carefully. Hope this helps.
