Default I AM THE MOTHER OF INVENTION!

I went nuts again and made a big order from carmela's orchids again....coming today is a box of 66 cattleyas....hhmmm, where to put them!

so, bench space is a premium now, and I really need to maximize my rafter hanging....scratched my head a bit, and came up with this contraption....

I took a strong net flat and 2 old 4 wire hangers...hooked the wires one each into the big holes in each end of the flat, with gave me a nice big hanging flat! I hooked the hangers between my copper pipes at the top, and loaded it up!

so far so good, updates when it proves its worth!

Looks good; I've often pondered laying out a grid system in the upper reaches of my gh...more points from which to hang things...

Very nice solution! That is quite a few new orchids that you are expecting. I miss the days when I could even order five new orchids. My growing space is so limited! Limited space does encourage creativity, though. Good luck with all the new ones!

I did the same in my greenhouse in PA.

Warning! You will, at some point, lift a plant out of one end of the suspended flat, and dump the contents out of the other end!

66? It's reassuring to know that I am not the only one afflicted with this madness ;-)

Where did you find the rectangular plant tray in the first 2 pics?

It's a pretty cool set up you've got there.

I'm sure you'll have time to take care of them all.

that is a regular plant 'flat' that you put potted seedlings in for gardening...I grow quite a bit of various plants and veggies for organic gardening....I took it down and added another one to it for strength, it was a bit saggy, lol....but its great to get those young catts up to the sun!

yes, the orchid playhouse is my treasured pastime!
