my greenhouse is up and running again mostly because of a problem with spider mites. seem to have solved it mostly now.

my crude hot water pipe system seems to be working. it consists of a small plastic tub of water with a 300w aquarium heater in it. a 1000l hr submersible pump sends the water through 30m of hosepipe.

I am also experimenting a bit with submersible pump and aquarium heaters etc., I am trying to get enough pressure in the submersible pump to send water through a misting system.

hmm tricky, I don't know much about misting systems but I think you'll need a high pressure pump for that. I dunno if a pond pump would be up to the job.

I could be wrong though.

my greenhouse is small so can get away with using a small pump and heater, but the water is just going around a loop.

I did have to prime the water loop by putting an hosepipe on one end connecting it to the house water supply to get the air out, it worked fine after that. the pump is a bit wimpy but does the job.

I put my plants mostly back in the greenhouse a few weeks ago, most are ok. might have been a mistake as it was minus 6c the other day, hopefully it will continue to be warmer from now on.
