Thanks for the thoughts msaar. I do intend to mount it on a shelf at one end of a 30 x 10 ft attached growing area . It's a bit of an unusual situation where I don't have anywhere that I can actually cut a hole in the wall and install a swamp cooler in that opening so it can take air from outside. The structure is attached to our house and garage on one long and one short side. The rest is concrete pony wall and triple glazed glass windows that do slide open. The end where the swamp cooler will go has an air intake from the outside that is sucked in using a squirrel cage fan and the air source is pipes 4 ft underground and about 50 ft long thru our backyard. This brings in significantly cooler air than regular outside air and then an exhaust fan (large squirrel cage fan) at the opposite end at the highest point blows out warm air. Our climate in the summer is typically warm and dry and I need more humidity and cooler air in there mostly for my Masdies and Milts. I think the Catt's Paphs, Phals and Dens etc. are quite happy as we do run a fogger now which increases humidity but more so at night when the temps drop. I had a heck of a time finding a cooler that I can have shipped to Canada and fits in with some of my requirements. Hard to believe but I could not find one of any kind in Canada and many places in the U.S. won't ship here.
So I am hoping it will work-it does have a connection to a garden hose so it can run indefinitely.
I would love to hear from anyone who has seen one or knows of them to know how reliable or sturdy they are. They all have a fairly simple means of operating, but I could only find one review which was quite positive.
