Default Southern Burner

Hello all,

Moved out of the greenhouse in Michigan and thinking of putting one up here in central Oregon; as I grow mostly "cold" growers (95% cymbidiums) and the average night temps here in the depths of winter are nowhere near what they were in the midwest, I'm thinking that I can get away with a single southern burner in the gh...but...just wondering if anyone has one that is run off of a portable propane tank as opposed to a "pig"; there's not really a ton of room where the gh will sit & the tank would have to be vertically positioned rather than horizontally...natural gas is not an option, and I'd rather not go the electric route as we sometimes have 24hr+ outages...
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Adam

Supposedly, liquid propane is good for about 91,500 BTU/gallon.

A Southern Burner A-1 is rated at 25,000 BTU/hr (that's the input), so running full out, that's about 3.66 hours per gallon.

My propane supplier replaced the gauge with a phone dialer that uses the cell phone network to call them when it gets down to 33% full.
