Default Fans pointed at orchids or ceiling?

Hey again,
I have a new question regarding fans. Should you have your fan point at your orchids or towards the ceil to just move some air? I have a pretty high humidity area. I think my orchids dry a little though if pointed at them. However, I don't know if there is enough movement around the orchids. It's a pretty strong fan and I could turn it to a higher setting. I just don't know what kind of air movement I need.

You want there to be just enough air movement for the leaves to be swaying slightly (in the case of long, thin leaved orchids, obviously Phals won't sway!). If your fan is stronger than that, then maybe you need just need to place it further away.

Camille is right, you want just enough air movement that light-weight leaves move slightly. Pointing the fan at the ceiling usually gives you gentle movement over a broader area. If you only have stiff leaf types, hang a tissue or ribbon among your plants as your indicator 'leaf'.

Great idea to indicate air movement! Pointing the fan at the ceiling also gets the warmer air down where your plants might be.

Thanks for your help, Camille and Paphmadman. The ribbon trick is a great idea (that I did). My current grow area is small and I think my fan is a little to directed to point right at the plants. So I cheched with a ribbon if I was getting all around air flow with the fan pointed at the ceiling and I am.
