I use it on some of my mounted plants because it is functional and attractive. It provides some additional shade which is useful for plants that prefer it, and it also helps hold a layer of slightly more humid air around roots. Plus, this time of year, it blooms and the flowers smell amazing!

From my understanding,
The Moss, is an Orchids companion.

Here in Aussie Land,
Many orchid growers,
Have it on the pots ..

Yes from the Bromlaides family.

So,
Is it just a Myth ?

I actually ordered some last night.
Be most interesting How it will grow ..

And also, It ONLY flowers,
When in the Right conditions,
You know, A happy air plant

it grows all over here and i put it on all my hanging and mounted plants....except bulbos….i wonder why i don't??? ( really just realizing that right now LOL)

it needs more light than people realize and it cannot get enough water. i actually believe that it could be constantly dripped on or even rained on and it would just flourish. unless it was submerged i don't think it can be over watered

There are various clones that have leaves of varying width from various parts of its enormous geographic range. The narrower the leaves, the less the individual will tolerate periods of low humidity.

Tillandsia usneoides plants from the US don't do well with low humidity. They grow fine in those coastal parts of California that have dew on many mornings in the summer, but they're hard to keep alive inland.
