Harlequin |
Most commonly used to describe a phalaenopsis color type originally resulting from the mutation of mericloned Phal. Golden Peoker.
Harlequin phalaenopsis typically exhibit asymmetrical spotting and heavier substance with dark beet-purple pigments.
Often the heavier the color saturation, the poorer the shape.
In most cases Harlequin phalaenopsis are longer lasting than standard white phalaenopsis in same growing condition. |

HPS (High Pressure Sodium) |
A high intensity discharge (HID) lamp in which the light is produced by igniting sodium, mercury and xenon gases within a sealed ceramic arc tube. Sodium lamps emit light energy in the yellow, orange and red regions of the spectrum; the red spectrum stimulates flowering and fruit production. |
