Ok!
Just when I thought Orchid Board was the bees-knees I now find it's combined my orchid obsession with my cooking obsession!
This won't be good for my work/life-balance - I'm feeling it tilt dangerously away from work...

So - an unhealth recipe that cheese-lovers should enjoy!

50g pecan halves, chopped.
1 fresh jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
70g apricot jam
1 round (250g) Camembert cheese (approx 10 cm diameter)

Preheat oven to 190 celcius, 360 faranheit, Gas 5.

Cut Camembert in half horizontally and place one half, cut side up on baking tray. Mix chopped jalepeno and jam, and spread half of mix onto top of Camembert.
Sprinkle pecans on top.
Place the remaining half of the Camembert ontop, cut side up. Spread remaining jam mix, and top with remaining pecans.

Bake for 10 - 12 mins, or until Camembert begins to soften.

Bake with crackers or toasted French Baguette.

It'll clog your arteries, but it's got to be good for the soul! Enjoy! ;)

I have one of those cake-mix fix-it-up cookbooks and there's a recipe for Sugar-Cinnamon Knots.

One 8 oz package cream cheese
One box spice cake mix

1/3 cup sugar ( I mixed regular sugar and a packet of vanilla sugar)
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, put aside.

In mixer, combine softened cream cheese and cake mix till well-blended.

Make 1 inch balls and roll them into 4" logs. Twist into a knot like a pretzel, sprinkle with sugar mixture and put on cookie sheet 1 1/2" apart (they spread a little). Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.

Mine took 14 minutes for perfection :)

They're a little crisp on the outside and kind of chewy inside. Very tasty and they're rich so just one or two works for me :)

I'm gonna play around with different flavor cake mixes. Chocolate would be great and I think lemon would be awesome (without the cinnamon) :D

This is officially called Taco Soup. It is honestly, more like a pot of chili. The best thing is it is very low in calories and only a few points for those that do WW.
Don't let the fact that is low in calories scare you...it is AWESOME!

Ingredients:
1 lb of ground turkey breast
1 lg onion
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 pkg. hidden valley ranch dressing
2 cups whole kernel corn
1 can red beans
1 can black beans
1 can white beans
1 can fat-free refried beans
1 can diced tomatoes (rotel or mexican flavor)
1 can diced tomatoes (any flavor)

Saute onions with turkey adding in the taco seasoning pkg. Take out a pot and begin by putting the 2 cans of tomatoes in with the refried beans add all the other cans and the turkey with onions. Do not drain anything off the cans of beans and corn.
Stir it up and add the ranch dressing.

Bring the soup up to a boil (do not boil more than a moment), cover and simmer for 1 hour.

Okay, I'm gonna share one of my favorite soup recipes. This is actually a soup from Olive Garden :blushing:, I found the recipe online, but tweaked it to make it MUCH BETTER . Let me know what you think, if you decide to make it. I gotta say though, everyone that has it, loves it!
So here goes, with the tweaks next to the original recipe.

1lb of Ground Italian Sausage
1 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper (I add about 1/2 tsp more)
I large diced onion (I personally use less, maybe half)
4 Tbsp bacon pieces (I add about 1/2 Tbsp more)
2 tsp garlic puree (I add about 1/2 tsp more)
10 cups water
5 cubes chicken bouillon (I use 2 more cubes, I crush mine so they mix faster)
1 cup heavy cream (I add 1/2 to 3/4 cup more)
1lb russet potatoes, cut into cubes

Sautee Italian Sausage and crushed red pepper in a frying pan. Drain excess fat, refrigerate while you prepare other ingredients. In the same pan; sautee bacon, onions and garlic until onions are soft.

Mix together the chicken bouillon and water in a large pot, add potatoes, bacon, onion and garlic, cook until potatoes are soft about 30 minutes.

Add the heavy cream and sausage and cook until thoroughly heated.

This soup is really good with some freshly grated parmesan cheese.
