When I go to the User CP from the control bar near the top of the page, and click on Pictures & Albums, I can see just one album called "My orchids" with two photos. YET, when I go to my first post in the forums (Introductions - Break the Ice ! : About how I got started with orchids. 1st post.) and click on the camera icon, I can see two other albums, "Miscellanious" and "Jan-Feb 2007 Blooms" but not "My orchids".
What have I broken?? OR am I doing wrong??
I wanted to add a photo to "My orchids" album. But if it doesn't show when someone clicks on the camera icon how do other members find it? Why don't all three albums show up either path?
Also, from the User CP, I only see albums, not the pictures I have uploaded. Yet the selection choice says, "Pictures & Albums". There seems to be a discontinuity in the boards code regarding these two actions which should produce the same result - unless I am totally missing the boat.

Where the he.... is the OrchidWiz update? I realize there are 7 days remaining in June, but there is also no sign that the update will be delivered in those 7 days. Actually, rather than asking you who probably know even less than I do, I asked Alex.
About two or three weeks ago I read on this forum that the update schedule was unknown. Finding that incredibly unbelievable I asked Alex myself when he planned to deliver. The answer I received was, "I don't know, I'm programming the journal option that allows a personal database now and don't know when it will be ready". That is not an exact quote and probably should not be in quotation marks, but it accurately reflects the answer.
Since I have no plans to use the journal option and hope a custom install that allows skipping that part of the program will be available, I sure have no patience when it comes to waiting for it. Besides that makes no common sense. The plans for a journal option were announced last year. Why would programming it just now be underway?
So I ask, is the AOS awards data the source of the problem? I doubt AOS would release the data to Alex prior to AQPlus being ready for delivery so this could be the issue (AOS also has not delivered the AQPlus June update).
Since I paid OW $80 last Fall for the 2009 updates and AOS $50 last fall for their 2009 updates, I think I could reasonably argue that I have $32 paid well in advance for this single June update cycle. That said, I think a better answer than, "I don't know" might be in order.
Am I just cranky or is some explanation from both AOS and OrchidWiz a reasonable expectation on my part? ]]>

When they first became available, I thought it was a great idea for project discussions...and then it took on a life of it's own.
I've noticed a difference here...as have some of the other members of Orchidboard. The great discussions we always had with folks from around the world no longer take place in the main forums, they're discussed in the social group threads.
I've asked Marty if there is any way we can dispense withe the private groups...
but before we do that (or at least see what can be done about removing them), we'd like the opinions of our members...after all, it is OUR community :)
I have been contacted by a few people about this and I stand in agreement about how things have changed somewhat around here...
I like the way we used to do things...
how do you feel about the social groups staying or going? Now is the time to speak up ;)

Please understand, I am *not* complaining. People who post pictures are very kind, and I wouldnt criticize their efforts. Just wondering if there's something I'm supposed to be doing to convery it to a larger picture? Clicking the picture doesn't seem to do anything :roll: ]]>
I had never taken much note of it until today. I viewed the profile of a spammer and gave the infraction just to see what would happen. Is this something that is supposed to be available to members? What does it do? When I did it, I could see it in the profile, but wasn't sure what else happens. Oscarman was quick to clean up the spam posts and wield the ban hammer. :rofl: ]]>

On wednesday I had trouble getting here, I finally did and browsed for about half an hour before it all stopped working.
Last night I got straight in, browsed for maybe an hour then suddenly everything I clicked on gave a 'page not found' type of error.
Other websites were fine at the time I had these problems.

Yesterday, I took a quick look around the forum before starting my day and I saw one thread with a bunch of new purchases and one of the poster's (can't remember who) newbies was a Phal Sogo Grape. "Hmmm, I've been wanting one of those, forever", I thought to myself. "I need to get one. What's taking me so long?"
Then I continued clicking away and saw another thread, with another orchid on my wish list, a Phal equestris (I think it was Gin's thread.) "OK, that's it, I need to place an order and NOW", so..............
I found the Phal Sogo Grape on the Hausermann's website but, no equestris. I needed to justify the shipping charges so I ordered a Phal. Golden Peoker x Brother Fortune Sara too.

GUJIAO, China – A gas explosion ripped through a coal mine in northern China on Sunday, killing at least 74 miners and trapping dozens, state media said. It was the country's deadliest coal mine accident in more than a year.
China's mines are the world's most dangerous with more than 3,000 deaths a year in fires, floods and explosions.
The pre-dawn blast occurred while 436 workers were in the Tunlan Coal Mine in Gujiao city near Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi province, the official Xinhua News Agency said.
At least 74 miners died and 114 others were hospitalized, including six in critical condition, Xinhua said. It did not say how many workers remained trapped in the shaft but earlier reports said 65 were still underground.
Most of the injured miners were suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning, Xinhua said, citing doctors at a nearby hospital. Exposure to carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless gas, can lead to death.
Xinhua said about 80 rescuers were searching for survivors. ]]>

There are a lot of steps but once you do it a few times, it'll become easier.
Here goes:
1. Go into your Group and choose Add Pictures To This Group.
(Don't put anything in the white box)
2. Click on the link for Albums in the paragraph you see above the white box.
3. Click here to add an album and start uploading pictures!
4. Enter a Title and a Description for album then click on Submit
Your Group Album is now set up but there are no pictures in it yet so...
To add pictures:
5. Click here to upload pictures!
6. Click on the first Browse button
You will be choosing a picture from your computer, NOT from your OB Gallery. Make sure it is resized. If you are uploading more than one picture, you will repeat this with each Browse button.
7. Once you've chosen your pictures, click on Upload Pictures
8. Save Changes
9. Add Pictures to a Group
10. Put a checkmark in the upper left corner of each photo you want to add to the group.
11. Use the dropdown to choose which group you want them in and click on Add Pictures
Now you're finished! :clap:
Now that your album is set up, any additional pictures will be added to that album by using steps 5 through 11.
My thinking is that each member of a group should have their own album which will be accessible by others in that group.

It's really annoying since usually I check OB when my msn messenger email alert pops up. I have school work to do, so can't be checking the forum every 5 minutes for new stuff!
If it's just me with the problem, I'm thinking that hotmail may be deciding it's spam that it doesn't even let me see (this has happened to me before with other emails.) I would like to add the email address that sends the OB notifications on the safe list, but I don't have it. Can someone PM the email address to me please, so I can see if it fixes the problem? ]]>
