Since then I've not really been sure it was doing much. But about a month ago I spotted buds and now it's covered in these tiny flowers.

I grow it a bit bright which leads to red leaves. I grow it with the Masdies in the greenhouse and was planning all last year to put it in moss and a clay pot like them but never got around to it, so it's still in the bark and plastic pot I bought it in. Must get it re-potted this year!

The flowers are tiny and taking pics last year with my compact camera was really difficult, only managed because the camera could focus with the plant almost touching the lens. Much easier this year with a DSLR and 100mm macro lens. Flowers are perhaps 1cm from centre to the end of the fattest part of the petal with maybe another 1/2cm out to the very tip. Leaves on this guy are about 4cm.

It has 10 flowers open, one as already faded and there are 3 buds, 2 of which are almost open. It's probably been opening over the last couple of weeks although I didn't make a note of when I spotted the first open flower so I can't be sure.

First off they are sitting near a north window inside a bathroom and I'm not sure they get the maximum humidity. I've kept the top open so that they get more ventilation.
Should i close the top so that more humidity builds up inside the glass ?
Also a general quote i know they don't need much light but would a LED lamp ,that i used on the same aquarium for my clown fish, be beneficial for their growth or would that be to much light ?

I started using condiment cups as pots. They work great. I drill holes in the bottom. Then stuff em with live moss. I keep a few spare ready for propagation. I think this one had horsey sauce.:)

got couple of these at the local nursery for discount because they let them get dry out. I soaked them overnight in rainwater & vitamins.they came back really well.

the leaves are still a little on the dry side but they will be okay given the cool weather bright indirect light and plenty of water

I had a pleasant surprise the other day - one of my Stelis flowered, with the spike hidden behind another leaf; as I was inspecting the plant, the spike popped out and surprised me with flowers!

This was purchased as a Stelis vulcanica, but it appears that name is invalid and it's actually Stelis nanegalensis.

We'll see what happens. Interestingly this only ever bloomed with a couple flowers until I moved it about 4 inches closer to the lights - now it's covered with flowers as the pictures on the blog show.

This plant was marked with the destination, a recycle bin.
Approximately one year she was being dropped, gathered, and after several attempts, I was finding that it would not be able to recover it.
But it was with the expectation that an hour to solve if appear, and again was what happened.
A long-standing sheet, two hastezinhas, which now came in as the image and will give also a small bud and two new roots, I guess now it invigorates.

This week, some plants flourished at the same time, it'll slowly posting the images of plants.
Today I will present the Acianthera recurva var. bicolor, acquired in an exhibition, flowered passadp year (2011) and this year two rods have already shown their exuberance and some others are still emerging, I hope you enjoy it.

I keep them with my other orchids, phals and oncidiums, in S/H, on a heat mat, under LED Chip Tec lights (from Orchid Web) with a small fan for circulation. Also a whole house humidifier as well. All my orchids are doing super, spiking, sending out new roots, which I can see thru the glass containers I drilled for the S/H. Anyway, the masdevallias aren't doing so well. :(One of them is holding it's own, not really changing at all. The other one has been constantly beginning new leaf growth but at the same time losing leaf after leaf with each new leaf emergence. :roll:When I recieved them from a web site, neither one had flowers, but had flowered at one time. I'm wondering how moist or wet it can be, and how much shade it likes.

I have a spot where there is some moist/wet wood, and it's beneath a bromeliad. I'd like to plant it on the wet wood in the shade there.

Andy's Orchids sells the plant in a pot and says 'moist/daily watering', so I assume it can be wetter than say, something they sell attached to a stick. Should I be concerned about rot? (it's not super wet, but it would not ever dry out). Would I want to remove potting media and go bare-root in this situation?

Also I don't want to put it in so much shade that it becomes lanky, but I want it to be cool and happy. I have a 2 x 24W T5HO light setup, and the orchid would be beneath a bromeliad at about 12" beneath the lights. I know that isn't really any scientific measurement of light level but I'm hoping it will help enough.

Oh, one more thing, the plant would be growing flat on a horizontal surface, as opposed to mounted on a vertical surface.

They are currently in spike, but because the buds blast quite easily if I let the mount dry out too much, it's difficult to get a shot of it. So, I post instead an old photo of it. It's still not the best pic 'cause these buggers are so tiny. This is a side shot. A good frontal shot to show the petals and lip is extremely difficult w/o a macrolens (which I don't have).

The spikes are long, thin, and wiry.

This is actually the larger species of Acostaea with the leaf size being almost as large as that of Lepanthes telipogoniflora (it's still smaller than Lths telipogoniflora).

It blooms in succession.
