Sunset Valley Orchids has these (and a bunch of Hilda Poxon progeny). The whole bunch of Aussie Dens are robust and adaptable... And some have been bred to keep size down. An email to Fred Clarke will help to identify those hybrids with a high flower count -to-size ratio. This line of breeding is Fred's latest endeavor. |

Fred has some inter-varietal crosses of Den. speciosum now. This is the Rock Lily, a plant that can have hundreds of flowers on many, many spikes. The varieties tend to be slow to mature, but inter-varietal crosses show something like hybrid vigor, and he tries to breed them so they don't get too big. Fred explains the parents of his crosses carefully on his Web site listing, and predicts what to expect.

Well I want one of the Hilda's and I keep looking at the dark purple ones, and, and, I want to try a FDK and this spring he is going to come out with his new Catt list and I can't keep up with what I have  now I'm out of breath.  |

Just got this neat little guy from last night's orchid club meeting where Fred Clarke was speaker (and supplied the plant table). It's a complex hybrid, has a lot of Den. tetragonum in it, which should tend to keep the size down. It's in a 4" pot.
