Hello everyone! I was wondering if you could give me an idea on easy growing dens that don't require a winter rest. I have 2 that I'm growing, but want more. Giving them a rest worries me that I will kill them. Thank you!

None of the Den. Phal types need a winter rest that I know of. Warm, bright, and water normally all year. Spatula types like the Den. antennatum, don't really need one either but can be kept a little cooler as long as they are not too wet. The Latouria types are my favorite and I have found them to be easier than both the phal and spatula types. While they don't have to have a winters rest, I have found that they do flower better after a slight rest with reduced watering, lower temps, minimal-no fertilizer, and bright light. I have a few latouria hybrids too, like the Den. Hawaii Stripes, that don't need hardly any rest at all and seem to be pretty easy/forgiving growers.

Let's turn it around - only the Dendrobium nobile types require a winter rest with substantial watering restriction and decreased temperature. The yellow / pink ones in the aggregatum group need cooler temperatures rather than water restriction. Pick any of the others.

Thank you to both of you for getting back to me. I have the Hawaii Stripes and the other one I have is Den Enobi purple splash. The Hawaii stripes is a rescue from Lowes and I've had it for about 9 months. It has grown me 4 new growths and it seems to be recovering good. I love the flowers on the Dens. And want to grow my collection of them.
