Default Dendrobium moschatum + One

Well, it has finally opened its flowers.
I saw that the flowers had opened yesterday.
I went back for pix nearing sundown.
The flowers didn't seem to be as open as they had earlier in the day.

D moschatum - Evening

So, I went back today and took another look at them.

D moschatum - afternoon

Sure enough the flowers were again fully open.

While the closing of the flowers is not dramatic, I've never seen any Dendrobium do this before.
And while searching, I've found nothing about D. moschatum being Nyctinastic.
Anyone seen this in D. moschatum before?

I had to take this from a step ladder. So, I didn't get a very good image of the slipper lip.

Den. Nobile Hybrid

This is the one the cat was chewing on in the pet pix.

Interestring that you also noted this! I find that all my Section Holochrysa and Densiflora partially close in the evenings for the first few days after opening. Even the hybrids, such as D. Memoria Christa Erdmann (griffithianum x farmeri) show the same habit.
