Tindo, I have a dend NOID and it seems my leaves are not as strong as yours, the NOID is a HD purchase. What is your regimen of care. I looked at it this a.m. and wanted to just push it away and ignore it, it just sits there and does nada.

It gets dappled direct sun in the am hours at which time I mist it. I put it under running distilled water (I have a 5 foot tall, 3 foot diameter barrel of distilled water), for about a minute. The pot is ontop of a dish full of wet gravel for humidity. Its also under flourescent lights all day, its in my office/lab.

Oh and it gets the occasional diluted frog poop for fertilizer. Don't know if works, but it doesn't hurt.

LMAO ... frog poop, you have to be kidding me. The floresent lighting is different, but I have mine near an east/north window (bright) for lighting. I moved my plants around today and will see if the new lighting will help. Should I go downstairs and check the sidewalks for frog poop?

Well you know, I have it available.
But just so I know that you know, my Dendrobium gets both strong indirect sunlight and flourescent lights all day.

Dens do really well for us, Cheryl, and I think Tindomul hit it on the head when he said his gets a lot of light. We have a GH and most of our Dens are hanging near the roof with about 70% sunlight transfer or are sitting on the Catt bench with about 50% light transfer. I'd be careful of direct, unprotected sunlight but I'd sure try to increase the light exposure. We saw on the AOS Forum several months ago where someone said that Dens did better with low Nitrogen fertilizers. So, we have only been using Bloom Booster fertilizer on our Dens for several months now and they are really doing better than they have ever done. For us, that seems to be working but I have no info on the Nitrogen content of frog poop.

Nitrogen and frog poop, nahhhhhh....I would be shocked if it did. I will do a bit of research on the fert, its very possible my chids need a different menu. I use Shultz right now but I am not so happy with this choice. I am not so sure I can get anymore light than what my nook is giving me other than shading with a drape my late afternoon west window and to balance the room all 3 window's will need the draping and will be less light than what I am currently getting, I think a sheer behind the one west window, will work.

Sandra, if you have both 50% and 70% light for the dend's, can you see a difference in the growth pattern? I relate chids with babies, when they can't talk to tell you why they are crying and you try this and try that and try that again and again .... omg ... the roller coaster challenge.

We really don't see any difference in the Hanging Dens and the ones sitting on the Catt table. They're all doing well. The biggest difference in the last several months was when we changed to only Bloom Booster fertilizer. We're using Jack's (Used to be Peters) and it does contain micronutrients. The previous fertilizer didn't contain micronutrients (I'm not sure about Schultz's but the label will tell you if it does) so that is why we changed. Again, it is working for us in our system. I posted a pic of our 'antelope' Den. in the Orchids Blooming section.
