It also looks like there could have been some kind of mechanical damage to the leaves to start. And, have you tried placing a thermometer on the leaves with lights on? You might be surprised.

Thanks, all. Silken, I am glad to hear I'm not alone. I have changed their lighting, turning off the t-5s earlier, and I already raised them last week. Heat may be a problem as my grow space is now getting down to 55F at night. I never get my leaves wet, always water just the medium. I'll see how things develop with the new light settings.

Hope you find a solution. I only keep mine under 1 T5 which is not what most of my orchids get (2 T5's) or good sun in summer), so I don't think I am giving mine too much light. But who knows.... And it started spotting before winter and the cooler greenhouse conditions arrived.

As I think about it, mine also started before cold weather. I have a hard time thinking it's too much light since I have read Dens like as much or more than Catts, but I'm going to try this for a while. Worst that can happen is they continue to spot, yellow and drop, so I will have lost nothing

I'm sure stumped. I have had this happen often to any Dens I own. Funny thing on the one Phal type Den I have that is in bloom right now and quite lovely-but naked. It has one leaf on an older cane and it is green, firm and not a spot on it. All the leaves that grew since it was in my care are gone. So it makes me think nutrient problem maybe?? And yet I don't see how. They get a balanced fertilizer along with all the other orchids and sometimes I add seaweed. It is almost always supplemented with Cal/Mag. Unless it is too much and therefore a problem. It is a low amount but I give less to my Phrags and Paphs because I know they prefer less. Aalso my one Masdie. Hmm, maybe I will reduce their fertilizer.

I have already cut back on my fertilizer, both in strength and in frequency and I add either quantum (probiotic ) or incocur (also probiotic ) every 4 to 6 weeks. My tap water has Ca in it, so I don't add that. My water is half tap and half rain.
