Default How much light for dendrochilum glumaceum

I couldn't pass up a beautiful dendrochilum glumaceum today. I did a bit of poking around on the OB and on the Internet for cultural requirements and growing tips. I've seen wildly contradictory remarks on how much light. Everything from phal to catt levels. Does anyone here grow this successfully? If so, how much light does yours like?

Thanks!

I, too, have read conflicting info on Dendrochillums in general, so interested in this response as well.

I am growing Dendrochilum williamsii and Dendrochilum cobbianum with me for the past three years.
They are endemic to the Philippines just like your plant and they are equatorial sometimes found on rocks with direct sunlight.
Two seasons only: hot humid summers with no rains and long monsoon rains with typhoons….
so I give it moderate to bright light, lots of water and fertilizer, warmth and in winter a humidifier(that I turn off during bouts of hot and humid Manhattan summers) and electric fans all year round.
They grow like weeds. They love to be repotted each year, but do not seem to mind to go two years. A good time to repot is one to two inches of new growths showing. Remove all dead bulbs, divide if necessary to encourage plant to form growths in a full circle. It may take two to three pottings and some crimping to shape correctly into a full circle, but it will be worth the effort. Use medium coarse mix - they seem to like the addition of clay hydroton. Plastic clear pots work well. Be sure not to over pot. It is better to keep moving the plants up one pot size then try to make it fill out a pot too large.
