Default Dendrobium cuthbertsonii - new babies

I did it. I ordered four Dendrobium cuthbertsonii from Tom Perlite at Golden Gate Orchids. I was pleased and surprised when two arrived in bloom and a third one in bud. Nicely packed, arrived at the FedEx Office store in great shape in spite of our nasty cold weather here.

Jeff, they're already really cool...

I grow in a cool-growing terrarium. It's in my basement, so the ambient temps are cool. I fog for a good portion of each day, which helps, too. Growing them in clay helps keep the roots cooler as well.

Nice one, could you tell me the night and daytime temperatures in your basement tank?

Thanks

My embarrassing admission - I've never checked. I think it tops out at around 75 during the day during the summer and drops to around 55 on the coldest nights during the winter, but I'll need to get a thermometer down there sometime.
I've had a couple of Den. cuthbertsonii for about 6 months, so they've seen the hottest I have to offer - they're doing great. Lots of strong new growth, excellent roots.

9 different Oxyglossum seedlings? That sounds fantastic. I love the group. What sort of seedlings did you order?

I'm doing them in with Lepanthes, Soph. coccinea and a couple of Masdevallias. A lot of folks in Northern California grow them well...
