Rootless Dendrobium canes?

What type of Den is it? I have a Den phal cane which I twisted off a very sick plant (totally rotten at base) and just propped up in a sunny spot it has sprouted a keiki from the top, which is now in bloom... just waiting for the roots to appear and then I'll be REALLY impressed! Just goes to show how strong the survival instinct with these plants are!
