Summer days in the 70F's with nights in the low 60F's. Winter about 10F cooler.

Fantastic bloom. I've been wanting to get one of these. Any suggestions on a good source? The pink is fantastic - I'd be interested in bicolor forms, too... I looked at Golden Gate, but the minimum order was more than I wanted to spend, and the shipping was more than I wanted to spend... I remember Pui Chin in San Francisco having a bunch of these, but I don't have any contact info for him...

I bought mine from Andy's Orchids. I purchased this purple variety and an orange color form.

I got an orange one from Parkside Orchids a few years back.
I was told by them and a few AOS judges when asking questions about this species at the Longwood show that this is a tough one to bloom.
Mine is in a hanging 4 inch basket with NewZealand moss.
I water it a bit almost every day because it is not suppose to dry out.
I keep it in indirect sunlight OVER an aircondition vent
I will also put it in the garage daily for an hour or two in the fall season to expose to the lower temp a bit more.
It is a RUSH to successfully bloom this one!
The first time I had three blooms.
The second just one.
I have two blooms coming in now.
These blooms are not fragrant but can last 6 MONTHS!
Gorgeous

Absolutely get yours from Golden Gate. Tom has been line breeding them and definitely has them as mastered. Im hopefully going to be out at the San Francisco show next weekend and get a couple from him.

Here is one I (indirectly) got from Golden Gate last year. I dont live in a particularly ideal climate for these (it was 100+ yesterday and its 70 @12:30 AM right now and we have hard well water) never the less! I keep it flushed out after every watering and fertilizing with the RO and it responded well this year.
