Default Dendrobium sulawesiense

Someone asked about the other orchids growing in the same basket with Cirrhopetalum Elizabeth Ann 'Buckleberry'. These are shots of Den. sulawesiense that flowered very nicely this past Summer:

Beautiful. I have one that only put out not nearly half the blooms. Good gowing.

Beautiful. What is your culture trick?? I had previously bloomed plant, and right now it's sending out tons of new canes (last i counted, about 10+) and some of them seem to be mature. I'm not sure if i am feeding too much fertilizer or its just the species is very vigorous.

Donald, wonderlen3000 - I threw those Dendrobiums on top of the Cirrhopetalum because I didn't know what to do with them! They had become difficult to manage in their little net pots, falling off the bench all the time. They've been growing like that for at least five years. That's probably the key to my success - leaving them to grow undisturbed. I do water the basket very frequently, since it dries quickly. I use RO water and fertilize with a proportioner. The pH is adjusted to approximately 6.5 and total dissolved solids are kept below 300 parts per million. I use MSU type fertilizer. The plants get more light than my Cattleyas, since they hang above the benches. Here is another shot showing the Den. lawesii blooming as well:
