Thanks for the info on what you found your's liked. Thats a really big help. Mine is obviously going to be cooler than yours, but I will start off with a high light position and go from there if it doesn't look happy. Hopefully, I can look forward to flowers in the Spring!

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Thanks, Ross! I'm not sure the mount is big enough (but its what I had on hand....) and I've never mounted something with such a big mass of roots. Hopefully, it will enjoy the new 'home' and I'll get to enjoy some of its flowers soon. (Though really, I could grow this one just for its leaves and stems... I can see why its one of Sue's favourites.!)

 Even without flowers, this is one pretty plant! And if both Sue and I can grow it, then it should grow for just about anyone as our conditions are so different....
(Though mine is new, so I can't claim to be able to grow it yet.... I'll be sure to let everyone know how its doing next spring or, of course, if I have any troubles with it - you guys are sure to be the first to know!) |
