It's been a very long time coming but the last flower finally opened. I'm not much of a dendrobium fan but I saw this at a big box store last year with wilted flowers for $2.00 so I thought, "What have I got to lose!" It has flowered for me before but this show is just really nice. I love the flare of color... this could be the start of more plants... like I don't have enough!

I'm not a big dendro fan either, but this one could change my mind, especially at $2.00.

I do like dendros and this one is a winner at whatever price.

My dad planted a den under a guava tree in Stuart and it got huge. With time many of the canes have died back but a new one always seems to sprout. Since he died, and my mom doesn't take care of it, I've tried, without success, to get a cane to root so I could bring it back here and keep it going as a remembrance... maybe someday I'll make it work.
