Default Dend. loddigesii...had to have it but I SHOULD know better

This isn't going to bloom for me but that didn't stop me from getting it. I've always wanted this one but my setup doesn't provide enough consistent bright light for it in the winter months. Eastern blocked light coming up but I justified getting it by reminding myself that the conditions/setup are only temporary. (I probably won't be here another year.) Keep it going and when I have the right light to provide, it'll bloom is what I tell myself.

P.S. I keep telling all my Cattleyas that are now hanging on a palm tree in front of the house, to hang on...better days are ahead!

P.S.S. I have no willpower when it comes to saying, "no" to orchids. Really!

"No Willpower" is the name of the game here. We're all in the same boat, up the same creek, without a paddle. But why wouldn't you have enough light in Florida????? I would think that would be ideal. She is a cutie...can't fault you for that purchase.

In the same boat with mine, keiki's are plentiful, blooms not in the near future and I as well keep saying it's only a matter of time. Light is a matter of location, no different than any other piece of land beyond our state, light is all around us just depends on how the light is filtered.

when i did have the willpower to say no, i'll
1. grit my teeth and go back to purchase it if it still around if i can't get over it
2. if #1 fails, i'll bang my head on the wall and say, "why i didn't get it at the first place?"
3. next time i see something i really like i'll hang around the shop hovering over the chid, then make decision which hopefully i won't regret!

I once tried putting off a purchase by saying to myself that if I don't buy it now, and wait two weeks to see if the craving doesn't go away...I'll go back and get it. Well, by the time I went back, it was gone, of course.
Now all logic has been thrown out the window. I don't hesitate anymore..... Unless I don't have any money on me, and/or I don't have any of my children to sell/trade for it,(just kidding) or if my hubby is glaring over me with that "look" that tells me it won't be a pleasant evening if I bring another orchid home. (however, this last reason doesn't usually hold me back either).

Sandy, what is your set up? I'm also in SE FL (Hollywood) and it's just the opposite for me, too much sun.
