Default Orchids developments.

Could Orchids grow or progress during night time? I think yes. In morning when I check the plants its rather grown up longer.
How come that .No lights in the nights.

Hi,

I think that may be because of its kind of metabolism, the so called Crassulaceaen Acid Metabolism (CAM), most orchids grow that way. Charging energy during the night... I have to read something about that topic. But it is not so far off!

Take some pictures if you can.

Bye

Tesa

I've noticed also when watching the new growth of Cattleyas that the growth progresses during the night as well as during the day. So does bud development.

I agree with Tesa and there is growth day and night. Buds even open at night

Default Dendrobium Crimen:

Another observation here about this plants.
I live in a residential area. Lot of people grow this orchid in their gardens here . There is a plant growing on a mango tree trunk heavily ...Now we get a rainy weather .every day rainings almost for a month now. temperature drop is caused .
Therefore all the Criments all the orchids formed buds.
There are a long stalks forming up and buds on them .In near future we will get thousands of flowers...
