Thumbs up den. salaya candy

Trader Joes had some amazing orchids in bud this morning. The phals had "bunny ear" leaves. 10-12 inches long and very thin, I had never seen phals like that. I passed on those, I am over phals, believe it or not they are too high maintenece for me. They always want to die!

I have 3 mini oncidiums that are thriving in my care. So I know i am not poison to all orchids.

Today I bought my very first Den! Its beautiful with light green blooms with pink in the center. I will post a photo later.

It doesn't look the way other dens i see pictures of look, its leaves are very short and roundish. Anything I should know about this type of den?

Also, should i peel the "skin" off of the stems? It looks like snake skin that needs sheding.

Also, again, there is 2 3" stems that are bright green at the top, are these new stems growing? If so anything special I should be doing?

Thanks so much!

I AM SO EXICTED!

I'm no expert on dends, just got my oriental smile to bloom one little bloom for me, but I peel the snakeskin off all my orchids, it opens up all that green for photosynthesis...anyway, good luck with it.
