Default Another den in bloom today!

This is a not-quite-fully open bloom on my Den New Bangkok x Den Thailand.
The color is the deepest I've seen, very striking

Wow, thats the closest I've seen to a rose from an orchid. Beautiful!
Sue, are you the Anti-Tony when it comes to Dends?

I'm never anti-Tony! Tony is anti-Dens and I'm trying to enlighten him

Haha, cool! From his point of view, he's trying to enlighten the rest of us.

Very nice and deep colour.

Do you have a macro or super macro lense on your camera?

I have a Kodak V570 which is a dual lens camera with a
5x optical zoom. I have the digital zoom disabled. I've been through the menu a number of times but can't remember if there's a macro or super macro lens. I don't know much about cameras and photography but I love this camera, I'm amazed at the capabilities available these days!

Can I suggest then that you look into whether or not it has Macro capability. If it does then close ups like this one will be crystal clear when you take them next time.

The image is very blurry and although the colour comes through well the form doesn't. It might be worth getting to know the camera a little better.

Don't take this as criticism but just as a way to improve your pictures. If you have a macro then you won't believe the difference it can make.

;-)

Hi Darren...I'm never offended by somebody offering to teach me something new! I'll look into the macro thing. I've taken a number of very nice pictures but I know they can be better. I plan on picking up a piece of black velvet to use as a backdrop. The bright sun down here all the time makes getting a good shot a little difficult at times.

Besides the macro (in case I don't have that setting)...
any other suggestions for great photos? I, for one, would appreciate any tips

Thanks
