Default Den. cuthbertsonni in Erin Pottery

Hello all,

This just in from Andy's Orchids! He has several colors available: red, purple & orange.

This is the red bloom in Erin Pottery!

I also have the purple one (pictures to follow), so you do know what that means? I am short the orange one! But don't worry, it's on my wish list, along with a two-tone.

Hope I can keep these cool enough!

And here's the purple one. . .there is VERY little difference, that I can see between the red and the purple flowers. But it is detectible under T5 lighting. lol

Wonder if the colors will mature out as they get older? Or if this is the final coloration for both?

Which color do you have? And how cool are you keeping yours? What medium are you using?

I ordered red, but mistakes happen you never know. Mine have not bloomed yet. What temps do you have yours under? I just got my orchidarium yesterday and I wasnt sure if I was going to put it in there. I think its in Spag Moss just because I just got int last week. Its so little bitty but mines in a small pot.

I have mine in a Juliana grow rack. It's a plastic covered shelf, with fans, T5 lights, and a froggie humidifier. My temps range from 61 to 76. . .which I think is a little too hot but it has otherwise really good conditions.

I am working to bring the temps down a little bit more. . .so that the high is 72.

Mine came in sphagnum, so I just added a bit more at repotting.

Apparently, these bloom quite young! Mine is itty bitty too. Can't wait to see what you got!

Oh how cool! So if I keep my temps down to your high of 72, I should be OK.

You've got to post pics when it blooms!

Great colour, these are wonderful little orchids and thrive if potted in shallow clay pots with a fine bark and sphagnum moss mix, temp from cool to intermediate, I water mine lightly every other day in winter and daily in summer, feed weakly weekly. Check my gallery and see the orange and yellow one which flowers for 8 or 9 months of the year.
