Keysguy, you’re probably right that it just has some years where it rests after a big blooming. The note about the rain is just anecdotal over the last four years on my one plant.
In any case, it does look like a good year on my aussie dens in general! Im excited for ‘spring’ here!

Life's been busy, so my online presence has decreased lately. Nonetheless, I have more freetime now.
Here's this week update, big bloom inbound!

Looks like your spike development is going really well. How tall are the two flowering growths?

about 2 foot long. 2.5 if I were to count the stem behind the blooms. About two chihuahuas for your imagination.
The first strand is now in bloom. Being a big dummy that I am, I dropped one bloom while entangling the buds that were knotted together.

Jeff- That is going to be 'wicked pissah' as we say in New England.
Mine has1 spike about a foot long and 3 more that are just barely starting to emerge from the crown. Why can't they coordinate? And why couldn't they be ready for this coming weekends show?

Overall perversity of orchids... they love to bloom a week after a show of drop flowers just before. Never leave a calendar anywhere near your growing area but sometimes they "just know".

Sorry for the late update, but this was the show last week!
sadly the other two spikes didnt make it, which I kinda figured because this was a new division with barely any root after all. But seeing it bloomed satisfied me. Next up in line to bloom are the Kingianum type.
I also went to Sherman library yesterday and saw a row of Aussie Den in peak spikes, this is truly the Speciosum dream.
