I would encourage you to purchase it. It's low cost and not hard to grow on. It is not likely to die unless you can't grow dendrobiums.

Mine was just now moved to take it's floral photo. Fresh!
Wow so beautiful and elegant. I'm really tempted.to buy from olympic orchids for the low cost but lost a phalenopsis parishii recently that I purchased from them most likely due to spider mite damage and repotting from mounted cork slab to potted bark. It seemed to grow nicely had a new leaf grow and then got affected by some.pest due to travel out of country. I've also recently lost an established mid sized seedling phal bellina that I ordered from hauserman with very high hopes. But same thing it got attacked by scale. Thats why I'm now scared of buying young seedlings. I have one brassavola nodosa seedling that I ordered recently from olympic orchids I'm keeping a close watch on it for pests. Its the only young seedling that I have now.

Dendrobium Frosty Dawn – OLYMPIC ORCHIDS.
If you’re in Seattle, can you visit their nursery and see for yourself/inspect?

I’ve had a little luck with the Olympic Orchids seedlings. I say a little, because it was my poor care that caused issues. I ended up with 3 Dendrobium from OO, and two are seedling, the third being a little more mature. I would definitely consider buying from them (last I checked they had a den. spectabile that I’m resisting buying but want to get). The more mature one is doing well. Seedlings are struggling due to my error. Still, they are holding on.

If you're a beginner, don't start with seedlings. It will frustrate you and make you give up growing orchids.

Orchid seedlings grow well and easily when given very consistent care, but even small mistakes can set them back for months, or even kill them. It's no different from puppies, kittens or babies. Most problems with gardening are due to the gardener not giving the right care at the right time. You really do need to look at seedlings almost every day.

Dangerous mistakes with seedlings would include things like trying to keep them at incorrect temperatures, forgetting to water when they need it, giving too much or too little light, or keeping them in too-low humidity.

Your point is valid, but it's (in my opinion) a good way to learn more cheaply. Yes, you'll probably lose some if you're not experienced in the ways of plants (and maybe even orchids and maybe even the species), but if you pay attention you do learn and much more quickly than if you bought a mature plant that can decline sharply but show no visible signs for quite some time, thus not allowing the correlation to what you did wrong. That's exactly why they're good trainer plants (seedlings), they react more quickly.
If you just want a quick flower or it's your first orchid (or you don't want to make that your hobby/obsession), then buy something in bud, by all means.

I dont think they allow in person visits to the nursery otherwise I would have preferred to go there in person as the location is not very far from where I live. Only online purchases are allowed.
