Hi, my seedling has got a tiny red/purple tinge on one of the leaves. It has been under a little stronger light than normal. Is that what it is? Thanks in advance.

That is completely normal! That appears to be a variegted-leaf variety. Lovely! The red probably is a response to higher light.

A lot of different orchids - but not all - might develop reddish pigment in response to high light. That's what this looks like.

Yes it is! It’s variegated on the bloom too which is going to be cool to see if I keep it well. Thank you so much. Should I continue that light or love it? I was told to give it bright light so it’s with the Cattleya.

Thank you! Do you think that means too bright?

I would give a small seedling less light. It's too small to flower so high light isn't necessary, and I wouldn't want to risk burning. These grow so fast when happy it will soon be big enough to tolerate more light.

Oh brilliant thank you! I’ll go much more easy on it with the light then!
