I have a Dendrobium Kingianum which have these bumps on a lot of its canes. There is also something "shealth" like between the leaves. What are they ?

That's where flowering spikes originate.

Do you mean they originate from the bumps on the cane or between the leaves ?

Both. There are potential buds hidden in sheaths at the apex and at the node above each leaf. They flower when the plant decides conditions have been right.

Aren't those considered "aborted" flower attempts? Something did not go right, so it just did not go for creating the flower. It is often "light." I have a cross where that happens. I have gotten it to bloom once. Now I have it under brighter LED light and hope that will get it to bloom.

No, not aborted. Just patiently waiting for the right conditions to start the process.
