Smile Dendrobium Nobile Type - received as present

everybody,
I am so exited!
A very dear friend of mine surprised me yesterday with a thank you gift for taking care of her cat for a week.
She brought a Nobile type dendrobium NOID for me!

I attached some pictures.

My questions would be:
Does this kind of Dendrobium bloom only on new canes or also on the old ones?
My second question is, will it drop it's leafs when it goes through it's growing seasons?
I am not sure if it will be possible to tell by just looking at pictures.

Unfortunately I don't know anything about this type of Dendrobium.
I am hoping that several of you could give some input on it's care to raise it's chances of a happy survival.
Thank you very much.

Margit, I am not saying that this is a yamamotto Yellow Song 'Canary', only that it looks similar to it.

Can't really tell from the pix but I presume all the flowers are blooming from old leafless canes.
Also the some of the leaves are very yellow, though if it is on last year growth it should be ok as they would natually yellow and fall off.

FYI.

This is the yearly cycle of nobiles.

Year one -> new growth canes

Year two -> leaves on last year's canes yellows and drops. Then buds forms on on the opposite side of where the leaves were and blooms. Ater blooming you should notice new growth from the base of the plant again repeating the cycle.

Year three -> the spent canes is now old back canes, don't cut it off as sometimes it blooms again from unbudded nodes and it is also a source of nutrients for the current growths.

Thank you very much for your reply Robert, I very much appreciate it!
I did read Ross' post about the six horticultural groups of dendropbiums, which I find very, very helpful!

What I could not tell from reading it was the yearly cycle of the nobile.
You where able to answer that (to me important) question for me.
Thank you very much Robert!
