D. x delicatum, when to start fertilizing? Male
Default D. x delicatum, when to start fertilizing?

I have a rather large, and rather new to me Den. x delicatum that has initiated about 15 spikes. It is in my house near a window with night temps into the low 40’s and day temps approaching 60; there are LED grow lights mounted above the plant and light wise seems to be looking good. This plant will spend the spring/summer/fall outdoors. I have been watering every two weeks or so, but with the spikes starting, I’m wondering if I should begin fertilizing now in spite of it being the middle of winter? Any input from those of you enjoying success with the Australian dendrobiums would be greatly appreciated!

I think wait another month or so for fertilizing but maybe increase the watering frequency. (Where I live, they grow outside all year, they don't get dried out in winter anymore than anything else, and still bloom their heads off) Well done! Expect a good show in a couple of months, maybe less.
