The aussies will probably see a lot of these Dendrobium discolor in the North part of Australia (eg. North East part).
They grow in the wild in parts of North East Queensland - including on islands off the coast. Quite a common orchid around these parts.
Very nice for those that haven't yet seen the flowers of this species. I have some to upload - some phonepics captured today.
The lighter coloured pics were taken with FLASH. The darker ones without flash. Actually, when it is quite bright (sunny), the flowers do tend to look more like the ones with FLASH.
When I do look close up at the flowers and see the twists and variations of brown/yellow colours and a little green too, plus some violet ........ some nice little patterns in there.
