First time blooming for me. Grown quite dry in a west facing window. Has produced one spike off a new cane and two smaller spikes off an old cane.

This blooming the flowers are much greener. Really easy to care for. East window watered once a week, blooms for most of the year.

Wow, what a like looking Den! I don't see these types for sale too often in Europe. That'ss quite a difference in color, do you have an idea what may have caused it? (different light or temperature?)

Yes it's really elegant - the spikes1 are about 18" or 45 cm long so quite dramatic.

It came from Orchideen Garten Karge a couple of years ago, I think it may be due to the difference in light, it usually blooms in summer, but the house is fairly constant temperature all year round.

Spectacular-looking bloom. I'd love to run into one of these.

Interesting that it is blooming so far away from its usual period, though it must be nice to have some extra blooms in the winter.

Thanks for reminding me about that vendor, you had mentioned it last year but I forgot to check out their site. They do have some nice orchids.

I was browsing a Dutch vendor's website today and saw a message about it no longer being possible to ship any plant material to the UK. I hadn't though about orchids falling victim to Brexit! What orchid options are left now for UK based orchidaholics?? Seems like it's going to be rather limited now.

I'm not sure what the situation is - Florastore a houseplant grower are no longer sending shipments to the UK, but Farmer Gracy who sell bulbs and bareroot plants are.

It's definitely going to be tougher to buy orchids.
