Default Paph insigne

Last year it bloomed around this time with 4 blooms. Had it in temps of around 70f after bringing it indoors. This year I read a few articles that said it was primarily a cool grower and could withstand temps of 32f. I decided to experiment and left it outdoors until temps were around 50f and then brought it indoors into the basement where temps have never exceeded around 63f and have dropped to 52f. Humidity has been around 45%.
So it looks like I will get 4-5 blooms. The colour is maybe crisper. To be honest I don't really see a marked difference as a result of the lower temps. Maybe they will last longer?
The foliage looks terrible because it was sunburnt quite badly but the plant hardly seems affected. This is a really hardy paph.

Yes. 2 buds, 2 blooms ( in photo ) and maybe a 5th. Its a large plant, with about 12 fans, old and new.

Blooming around a month early this year - 7 blooms. As before I left it outdoors until temps were consistently in the 50's, then placed it directly into the basement. Temps there haven't exceeded 65f since and even hit a low of 53f. I think this treatment has been a success. Luckily the plant can stay another year in the pot ( enough space ) before I will have to repot.

Hate being the bearer of 'bad news', but this is not a pure Paph insigne.

It is most likely Paph Nitens (= insigne x villosum)
