Interesting. In the wild, Paph rothschildianum grows on a steep serpentine cliff in a thin layer of mosses and plant debris.

we find in the main illustration the plants are growing in pots that are over 3" deep, to be sure, but still rather shallow. Also, there is a link to a P. r. in its natural habitat.
