Default Paphiopedilum Jolly Holiday

This is a primary hybrid between philippinense and liemianum. It came out looking like a perfect mix of the two! Philippinense shape with liemianum color!

It last bloomed around October last year.
There is a new fan going this time, so I guess I'll see it bloom again a bit earlier this coming year.

The second picture is just for fun.
I was kneeling down on the kitchen floor to pick something up, then looked up to see this. a different perspective and thought it would be interesting to share.

They do look like they're flying, right?
I was rather upset about not staking it up earlier, but I like how the flowers are lying in the air horizontally.

I'm happy that the flowers all stay open together. I had a similar hybrid in the past and they tend to take up the sequential parent's trait rather than the multi parent.

Two of my favorite species. They do make a terrific hybrid. Very pretty. I love it.
