Default Paph. Iantha Stage (sukhakulii x roth. 'Tenny's')

This is a plant that I acquired in 2006 as a single growth rescue after a hurricane in Florida. The cross number looks like RX6561. It now consists of 4 mature growths and 5 immature growths. This is the first time blooming it. I'm hoping the next time I get more than one flower/spike. The natural spread is 6.5".

I've seen some ugly flowers of this hybrid, but you got a nicely shaped & colored one there! interesting leaves to boot!

I'm amazed by your patience!
I'm sure next time, you will get a bunch of flowers with all those growths.

How's your delenatii this year?

Somewhat disappointing. I moved from my old farmhouse with big (drafty) windows into a condo with the only usable windows all facing south. So far only two spikes on both of my large delenatii's, both divisions of my original plant that I think came from J&L Orchids many years ago, but both growing well.

I repotted one last year after it finished blooming. The other larger one will be done this spring.

Oh well, there's always next year!

I'm afraid you have a bit of a wait. The leaves on this plant measure about 10"L x 2"W held at about a 45deg angle. Notice that this is not NS but measured from the base of the plant to a single leaf tip.

cool thanks. i can say i get a joy out of just watching a plant grow and get big and then once i get it into flower, i get bored of it and move onto the next rescue or seedling plant to raise.
